21 Balmy evenings

It's official, summer has started. What's a girl to do but string up some fairy lights, buy some cheese, grab a bottle(s) of wine and head up to her West Village rooftop with her fabulously fun next door neighbours?

It felt like the first time I'd relaxed in weeks. It's amazing what warm weather, wonderful company and some delicious mediterranean takeout can do. I can see where we'll be spending at least one night every weekend this summer!

From New York, with love xox

Wow, it looks amazing. I believe it must be just perfect spedning a warm night on a rooftop, sipping wine an chat with great people while looking at the Empire state building. It´s rather cold here and it´s definitely not fun :( Hope you had a good start of a new week ;)

What a perfect way to spend an evening - and takeout Mediterranean sounds like the cherry on the rooftop ;)

Now that sounds like a fun and relaxing way to spend an evening in the city. We spend more time on our terrace as it warms up as well. Have a splendid week my dear!

That sounds perfect to me! My husband and I visited NY in 2010 and still plan to figure out a way to live there for a while in the future. Such an awesome city. And great to discover another Aussie who is living there! Love your photos.

Wasn't it the most perfect weekend? I wouldn't mind summer weekends in the city if I had that space to retreat to :) xoxo

I just gazed in wonder at the photos. First up, the photos are OUT OF THIS WORLD amazing! Secondly, this would be a dream meal with good friends. I remember sitting on a rooftop at a pension in Folegandros (an island near Santorini), sipping a cup of coffee, reading my book with a torchlight and hearing the waves crashed against the cliff. It would've been even more perfect if I had friends to share with.

Wow I love those pictures! They express everything I love about summer nights - I love when it's warm at night and you can go out or have outdoor parties. Wonderful.

I just trawled through all your comments lovely and I have to agree with everyone, your photos are amazing, but they alwayssss are. I think there is no blogger quite like you that captures moments so perfectly through a lens on the subject matter you're writing about. It seems we all will be living vicariously through you this Summmer as you wine and dine atop that beautiful rooftop amongst the fairylights - bliss! xx
