I noticed when I was looking over my Pinterest the other day how much I like neutral spaces with splashes of colour. I find whites quite soothing and I love being able to play up a space with bright and colourful paintings, cushions, throws and flowers which I can change as and when I want to*.
Our hotel (Bungalow 8) in Long Branch was a lovely example of neutral with a splash. It was a fabulously comfortable room to spend the night in (and bigger than our NYC apartment) and totally in line with my aesthetic. The only thing I would have changed was the hanging over the bed, and that's pretty big praise from me when it comes to hotel rooms as I spend so much time on the road for work.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend planned - ML., one of my best friends will be here from Melbourne for the weekend so I'm looking forward to lots of girl time, food and maybe a Broadway show.

I love everything in it, apart from the hanging, that doesn't really work at all, unless it marked some kind of celebration or something.

Holy wow that room is amazinggg. It looks so big too - the problem with gorgeous hotel rooms though is sometimes you don't want to leave them to go and explore a new city or place. What do you do for work? It sounds so exciting :)

I'm like you. I love light neutral tones because they seem to set a calming mood. That and the fact that give the illusion of space too. BTW, these photos are absolutely fantastic. Hope you have a fab time with your friend.

Sounds like a lovely weekend! what play did you see? I'm dying to go to one - I'm thinking Wicked or Book of Mormon! I went to Venessa's wedding on Friday (insanely goregous!!) and celebrated cinco de mayo on saturday - jam packed weekend!

The room really looks gorgeus. I also love such white spaces, the only thing is I´m a little messy person and I´d be afraid to do something wrong and ruin it. Hope you´ll have or had a great time with your friend. I love girly time too :)

Hi dear, hope you enjoyed the weekend with your friends, it must have been so great to see them again. There is something tres chic about an all white palette, I also love a little splash of bright colour in a room. I must agree with you on the painting, its seems out of place, no?
