Everything and everyone in LA is sun kissed, healthy, tanned and glowing. The sun shines so brightly the sky looks a washed out blue, the water sparkles silver and the palm trees are a black silhouette. The best thing to do if you ever find yourself there for a day is to put on a sun dress and your best smile and hire a vintage bike to ride along the beach. Alternatively, pair your most fabulous dress with some even more fabulous heels and a designer handbag for a shopping spree along Rodeo Drive.
In the few hours we were there en route to Australia, we checked out Venice Beach - a gritty, grungy home to body builders and beach markets and Santa Monica which had a slightly more refined and family friendly feel. We ended our day on Rodeo Drive, where I gazed longingly at shoes in YSL and Jimmy Choo while lovely husband C. marveled at the (super expensive) cars parked along the street. All in all, we had a fun few hours and look forward to going back to explore properly soon.
From Perth, with love xox

How surreal is Venice Beach?! It feels like everyone is a movie character, it's so full of life and colour. We had a really interesting experience chatting to some boys at the graffiti wall who told us about life on the slightly rougher side. Have a lovely stay back here in Oz, and a wonderful wedding celebration (for your sister from memory?).
Wow you fitted a lot in in a few hours!
Hope you are loving being back in Perth x
Any day spent on the beach
is a good day.
And your day looks like so much fun.
Nice pics too.

I hope you are having an amazing time in Perth. Your photos from California look so pretty. I love when you post photos on Instagram of all the great things you are seeing.
Sunny Days and Starry Nights
Hi dearest, thanks for your comments, you are the sweetest! I love how you described LA because it reminded me of when I visited as a child, from your gorgeous and vivid photographs it seems like nothing has changed since I was there. Those colourful stalls, busy beaches, eclectic crowd that hand around and the lovely amusement park at Santa Monica. Hope you are safely in Aus and having a great time. Looking forward to your updates from there. I bet you didn't miss the winter though?
Love your photos with the interesting crops and subjects.. would love to visit Venice beach one day! Welcome back to Aus, hope Perth is treating you well ;)
Oh the sunny side! xoxo

I come to see that USA is so very different from state to state. LA looks like everything you write about and I´d like to explore one day too. Your snaps are always so gorgeous. Have a safe flight to Aussie :)

I love LA and I also love you described the setting with sky etc. I still need to go to those store/booths by that beach. I feel like I would be able to find something pretty unique
Very nice place to hang out with friends and for shopping
I just love your Ferris wheel picture and the one of the dream catchers as well! That's exactly how we spent our last day in L.A. I hope you enjoy your time in Australia, sounds jammed packed!
Wow! You've had an incredible year - jam packed with so many adventures and achievements. It's great that you're able to get away to Perth for a breather. I still have plenty of friends there.
I remember strolling down the same beach and gawking at the stores and people down Rodeo Drive.
The peekaboo shot of the ferris wheel is lovely! I would hang that on my wall! Well done, you (as usual)! :)
Cheers,
